The West Virginia Housing Development Fund is proud to partner with The West Virginia Human Rights Commission to present their 7th Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest. This year’s theme borrows a phrase from the late Fred Rogers, the eponymous star of the long-running PBS show Mister Rodgers’ Neighborhood. Students from across the state were asked to develop a poster based on the phrase “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”

The purpose of the contest is to demonstrate non-discriminatory housing for all people regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, blindness, handicap or familial status.

“This is an important event and we are proud to work with the WVHRC to promote fair housing,” said Erica Boggess, the Fund’s Executive Director. “It’s exciting to see how this contest has grown. The work submitted by these students is creative and fun while still addressing an important topic.”

The top three winners from the elementary school category and middle school category were chosen by a panel of WVHRC employees and co-sponsor representatives.
