The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the “Fund”), a quasi-governmental organization providing safe, decent affordable housing across West Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Internal Auditor in our Charleston Office.  The successful candidate will assist in performing audit procedures including, but not limited to: inquiry and observation, substantive test and analytical review procedures in connection with transactions, account balances, controls and operations. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: assisting the Senior Manager of Internal Audit and the external auditors in the performance of the external audit; designing and planning audit procedures; performing audit procedures, including identifying and defining risks and potential issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, preparing work papers and documenting processes and procedures; identifying, developing and documenting audit issues and recommendations; reviewing audit results with line management and working with line management to develop appropriate corrective actions; and communicating through written reports, the results of audit and consulting projects to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit, management and Board of Directors.  Core Competencies include:  Communication, Dependability, Ethics/Confidentiality, Organizational and Technical Skills.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of one year of public accounting experience and/or one year of internal audit experience with a financial institution or federal program regulatory environment plus knowledge of Microsoft Office products REQUIRED; Two years of auditing experience with a financial institution or federal program regulatory environment PREFERRED.  Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor is also preferred. Limited travel statewide may be required.  Base salary for this position is $41,448 with final salary based upon knowledge and experience of the successful candidate.  The Fund offers an extensive benefit package that includes:
