On Wednesday Aug. 10, 2011, the West Virginia Housing Development Fund opened its new offices in the Kanawha City neighborhood of Charleston. The two-story, brick and glass structure, which is located at 5710 MacCorkle Ave., S.E., is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art building that will accommodate the Fund for generations, according to Fund Executive Director Joe Hatfield.

“We would like to thank everyone for your patience during our move. This is a fantastic new building and a milestone event in the history of our organization, but what we’re most excited about are the ways we can use our new office to further help West Virginia families turn their dreams of homeownership into a reality,” Hatfield stated. “From this location, we can better serve our current customers and more easily engage our partners in the lending, banking, construction and housing communities.”

One aspect customers may find beneficial is the free parking and large parking lot. In what can only be described as a major change from our previous situation, customers will find stopping by our office to make a mortgage payment a much more convenient process.

After weeks of preparation and packing, Fund staffers started the move to the new location in the first week of August.

“The move was a challenge and there were a number of logistical challenges, but I’m proud of our staff for stepping up and I’m happy to report that this was as smooth as a transition we could have hoped,” Hatfield stated. “This is a smart move for us and our customers. It gives us a great foundation to strengthen our relationships and build dynamic new partnerships.”

If you are dropping off a payment or need to stop by our office, we’re located beside Cracker Barrel in Kanawha City. To get to our office, turn at the light that leads into Lowe’s then take the second left. Our new phone number is 1-800-933-9843 or 304-391-8600 and our web address remains www.wvhdf.com. Our hours of operation remain the same. We’re open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday  through Friday.
