HOME Leverage Loan Program (Leverage)
The HOME Leverage Loan Program (Leverage) targets resources to low and moderate income families in an attempt to help make the purchase of a home more affordable. The Leverage Loan is limited to a maximum of $40,000. The loan is a 30-year, principal only loan made in connection with a conventional 30-year mortgage.
Leverage Loans are available in forty-four (44) of West Virginia's fifty-five (55) counties. They are not available in Berkeley, Brooke, Cabell, Hancock, Jefferson, Kanawha, Marshall, Morgan, Ohio, Wayne and Wood counties. The loan may be used to finance existing single family dwellings built on or after January 1, 1978 or newly constructed homes.
